Keeping Up With the Joneses

Recently our cousin Jeanette and I have been on a quest to learn more about "The Joneses". We've been really fortunate to "turn up" an amazing amount of information hereto unknown to most of us. In the next weeks I'll be sharing these treasures with all of you. We'll start with this Jones picture to allow you to have faces with some of the names. The couple shown in this picture, Mr. and Mrs. Jones, are the parents of Minnie Lee Jones Blackford, and maternal grandparents to the nine Blackford children (Raymond, Chester, Charlie, Opal, Alvin, Vera(Sally), Doyle, Horace and Roland). Jeptha Lorenzo Dow Jones was born on December 10, 1861 in Franklin, Heard County, Georgia and died at age 60 on December 23, 1921 in Oklahoma. Amanda Caroline Simpson Jones was born on September 29, 1865 in Eastland Co., Texas and died about two months short of being 57 on July 16, 1922 also in Oklahoma. The date of her death was a little over a half year from the time of her husband's death.

Get ready for a long ride! We'll be journeying back with the Jones to the actual towns where they were born and following their lives back prior to the American Revolution. Enjoy!
